1. Parked cars
We stress again, please do not leave your pet in a parked car, even if it is just for a short period of time. Temperatures can go up quickly in a car and animals do not regulate their body temperatures the same as humans do which can lead to them getting organ failure and death.
2. Exercise on hot days
If it is very hot, even for you, with high humidity, skip the exercise you have planned for your pet. Your pet can dehydrate, so it is also a good idea to carry water with you.
3. Water
Always have safe drinking water available for your pet to keep him or her hydrated.
4. Sun protection
Put sunscreen on your pet if he or she gets exposed to the sun a lot. Use a sunscreen made specifically for pets as human sunscreen is not safe for pet use. Apply to areas exposed to the sun.
