Free rabies vaccinations

28 September is World Rabies Day. With the help of a subsidy from our Rabies vaccine suppliers, Linden Vet Clinic will be offering free Rabies vaccinations on Wednesday 27 September and Thursday 28 September 2017.
In 2009 there was a Rabies outbreak in Linden. The animal affected had not left its property for 4 years. Thus even if animals are confined to a strongly enclosed property and never go out, they are at risk and pose a risk to humans.
Rabies is 100% lethal to humans who contract the disease from a rabid animal, and yet it is totally preventable through vaccination.
Rabies is now endemic to Johannesburg as a result of several outbreaks in recent years apart from the one in Linden itself. By law, all animals have to be vaccinated against Rabies at least once every three years but we recommend that your pet be vaccinated on a yearly basis.
This offer is valid for all animals which have not been vaccinated against Rabies in the past year.
To take up this offer, please phone the practice for an appointment on 011 782 5367
